The CAY2 is a short 40cm XLR male to XLR female cable that is perfect for connecting an XLR microphone to a camera that has an XLR input, without leaving the user with excess cable hanging around. The XLR pins are connected 1 on 1 for maximum compatibility with camera’s and microphones.

HOW TO USE THE CAY2

The setup example as shown below features the Canon XF100, a professional camcorder with built in XLR inputs, and an RØDE NTG-4, that can be connected via the Peppercable CAY2. The Canon XF100 is one of many camera's that contains at least one XLR input to record audio from a external microphone. Because this camcorder supports 48v Phantom power, it supports all XLR microphones, both condensor- and dynamic microphones from the RØDE NTG-1 that requires phantom power to the RØDE NTG4+ that can be powered by AA batteries inside the mic to the RØDE Reporter microphone or the RØDE M1.
