The CAY1 is a a 40cm XLR to 3.5mm minijack cable especially designed to connect a XLR microphone to a camera (or any other device with a 3.5mm TRS connector) that only has a 3.5mm minijack connector. The ring and sleeve of the minijack connector are connected to eachother so both channels will be filled with the same mono signal.

HOW TO USE THE CAY1

The setup example as shown below features the Panasonic GH5, a 4K mirrorless Micro Four Thirds camera, and an RĂ˜DE NTG-2, that can be connected via the Peppercable CAY1. The Panasonic GH5 is one of many camera's that contains a 3.5mm mini Jack input to record audio from a externa microphone. Bear in mind that the CAY 1 does not deliver phantom power so if there is a condensor microphone used, it needs to have an option to be powered by batteries. Dynamic microphones can be connected directly.
